Talc Beneficiation

The STET tribo-electrostatic belt separation technology is effective in removal of magnesite, quartz, and dark-colored contaminants from finely milled talc.
Batch pilot-scale single-pass separation test results for a representative talc ore are shown. Talc content is estimated by loss-on-ignition (LOI) measurements assuming a simple mixture of talc and magnesite. The talc beneficiation feed was first milled to 95% passing 325 mesh (45 microns) then processed in a pilot-scale tribo-electrostatic belt separator in batch mode.
